Meet The Team
CEO & Founder
Marianne started her career at Research In Motion (now BlackBerry), where she was focused on Process Development for Software with the Cellular Technologies engineering team. She helped scale the QA team by establishing processes, automation tools and best practices for global QA centres. She has then transitioned to focus on local tech startups in Waterloo. Her background in technology and process development has been the driving force behind turning BOWdometer™ into a reality. She has also co-founded a tech start-up that offers Engineering Consulting Services (JTD Consulting).
In March 2019, Marianne participated in a Fierce Founders pitch competition for Female Founders of Tech Companies, hosted by Communitech in Kitchener, Ontario. Of 100 companies across Canada, Marianne was a Top 8 finalist and pitched Toxon Technologies in front of a live and live-streamed audience, gaining exposure within the tech community, local press and investment groups.
Product Evangelist & Founder
George began his professional career as an entrepreneur, turning his archery hobby into a successful retail store. He created, owned and managed the Bow Shop (now part of Shooter’s Choice) in St. Jacobs and Waterloo for 35 years, focusing on offering exceptional customer service by hiring employees who are experts in the field of archery. During his tenure at the Bow Shop, he worked with many local and international companies to develop successful processes for product returns and warranty management.
George brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to Toxon Technologies and has a deep network of contacts with industry leaders and market influencers which has been invaluable to understanding the archery industry and building the accessory that best suits it. BOWdometer™ is George’s brainchild, and he couldn’t be happier to see it come to life!
CTO & Founder
Joe spent much of his 20-year career in senior engineering roles, most notably at Research In Motion (now BlackBerry), where he lead the development of cellular technologies. More recently, he led a hardware/software team to conceptualize, design, and build the world’s first ATSC 3.0 Broadcast System proof-of-concept in five months. Within 2 years at Eddy Solutions, he and his team developed five new wireless products and brought them to mass manufacture, optimized for both performance and cost. In 2018 he founded JTD Consulting, offering his expertise in Solution Architecture, Rapid Manufacturing and Engineering to help local startups and small businesses get their product ideas to market. He is bringing strong technical and business acumen along with a solid network of technical contacts and partners to Toxon Technologies to help make the product concepts a reality. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and has been granted over 20 U.S. and International patents.
With all his experience in making premium technology, Joe has been an asset to ensure that Toxon can produce the best device possible.
